Timeline for registration

ATTENTION: ALL registrants will be required to provide an abstract for their project.

ALL student participants will need to provide the following during online registration:

  • Your name
  • Contact information
  • Major/minor/expected date of graduation
  • Title of research project
  • Abstract (250 word maximum)
  • Preferred presentation format
  • Name, department and contact info for your research advisor (This is who advised your research, not your academic advisor)
  • Abstract must be reviewed and approved by your research advisor
  • Honors students interested in being considered for Honors College Awards will simply need to check the appropriate box on the registration form.

Please note: Students may submit up to two research projects as first or sole author. If two projects are submitted then the presentations must be different formats: one oral and one poster. It is allowable, however, for a student to be listed as a secondary (or tertiary, etc.) author on multiple presentations in any format.

Registration Guidelines

Please read all instructions before submitting your abstract for the 2021 URC. The registration process is two fold: 1) You will register using the URC 2021 Google Form registration form, which is provided below, and 2) Once your abstract is approved, we will follow up with directions on how to submit your abstract and your YouTube video link onto the ForagerOne platform. This second process is important, as it enables you to participate in the virtual conference platform. 

When you have read the instructions and are ready to submit your abstract, you may complete the Google Form. Students are encouraged to complete the abstract submission with your mentor.

  • There are three steps to complete submission:

    • Complete the abstract submission form via Google Forms (you can preview the questions below)

    • Your abstract must be approved by your research advisor; you will be asked to verify your research advisor’s approval and provide your research advisor’s information in the abstract submission form.

    • You will then need to upload your presentation (including posters and videos) into ForagerOne between Monday, March 15 to Thursday, April 1, 2021 by 5 PM. The upload information will be emailed to you once the site is open.

  • Please double check your  email address and your research advisor’s email before submitting your application. Please use your Charlotte email address. Incorrect contact information will cause a delay in the approval process.

  • If you have any questions regarding the Google form, please email us at

  • NOTE: We highly recommend that you prepare your abstract in a separate word processing program, such as Word, and cut and paste it into the abstract form. Please use the word count function to make sure your abstract is 250 words or less.

  • You have the option of preserving your poster via Niner Commons, an open access repository hosted by the Atkins Library.
