State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium
UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College are excited to host the 22nd State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The Symposium will be hosted on the campus of UNC Charlotte.
SNCURCS (pronounced ‘snickers’) is a research symposium event that allows students to present their research findings to a wide range of audiences. Students can present their research through Oral Presentations, Poster Presentations, and Exhibit/Performance Presentations. Students participating in undergraduate research are strongly encouraged to join the state of North Carolina annual research symposium event hosted by North Carolina colleges, community colleges, and universities. This year, SNCURCS 2026 will be co-hosted by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Central Piedmont Community College on the campus of UNC Charlotte on November 7, 2026. Sophomore students in research are encouraged to apply for the George Barthalmus Undergraduate Research Award. This scholarship assists students with development and engagement in undergraduate research. Students from all disciplines are open to apply! More information is located on the SNCURCS webpage.
In addition to presentation opportunities, the 2026 SNCURCS will include a graduate school fair, networking opportunities, and supporting professional development workshops for students.
Graduate School Fair: Space is limited and universities can sign up to participate NOW.
Volunteers: Student volunteers will be needed to support this event. Room moderators for oral presentations will also be needed. Check back soon for updates.
GRADUATE FAIR
Connect with North Carolina’s most engaged undergraduate researchers as they explore graduate education opportunities. SNCURCS brings together more than 700 students, faculty, staff, and guests from institutions across the state, providing graduate schools with a unique opportunity to recruit future graduate students while demonstrating support for undergraduate research and creativity.

SNCURCS attracts high-achieving undergraduate researchers from across North Carolina who are actively engaged in scholarship, innovation, and creative activity. Exhibiting at the Graduate Fair allows institutions to:
- Build relationships with prospective graduate students.
- Increase awareness of graduate programs across multiple disciplines.
- Demonstrate institutional support for undergraduate research.
- Connect with faculty mentors and campus partners from institutions statewide.

- 100+ High School students from NCSSM
- 400+ undergraduates from 30-40 NC colleges and universities
- 100+ faculty and staff who serve as mentors, administrators, and supporters
- 100+ family and community members
Registration Packages:
Niner Package ($150):
- Reserves a 6’ exhibitor table
- One conference registration (includes lunch)
- The institution logo on the website as a participating graduate school partner
- Logo in the digital abstract book as a participating graduate school partner
- Logo and recognition in the event slide show running in the poster hall
Green Package ($300):
- Niner Package benefits
- Electricity at the exhibitor table
- One additional conference registration (includes lunch)
- Opportunity to include promotional materials with the welcome pack at the registration table (supplied by the institution)
Gold Package ($500):
- Gold Package benefits
- Priority placement of exhibitor table
- One additional conference registration (includes lunch) for a total of three
- Access to participating student contact list (opt-in) and submitted resumes, where available and permitted
Exhibitor Information
- Guest Wi-Fi access will be available throughout the venue.
- Institutions are encouraged to bring recruitment materials, giveaways, tablecloth(s), and tabletop displays.
- Electricity is available for Green and Gold exhibitors only.
- Promotional materials for attendee registration must be provided by the institution by the published deadline.
- Additional representatives may be added by registering separately as a graduate school representative (includes lunch).
